State Of Origin fishing comp

The State Of Origin Fishing Competition is an annual interstate event that sees Queensland fishos tackle their New South Wales rivals.

For the event’s 2nd year, competition will take place from July 30 through to August 1 on the Brunswick River and its surrounds where anglers will experience typical estuary, beach and offshore options. The event aims to cater for the whole family, with thousands of dollars worth of prizes up for grabs, substantial lucky door prizes and a junior competition category.

The State Of Origin Fishing Competition is aimed at sustainable fishing with catch & release promoted via a photo entry format. The organisers of the event are not aiming to discourage competitors from keeping a feed of fish but promote the photo entry method to ensure no fish are kept purely for trophy reasons.

Categories for the event include: Longest Bream, Longest Jewfish/Mulloway, Longest Flathead, Longest Tailor and Best Junior Entry. There are also prizes for a “Lucky Door Fish” (chosen at random for all fish registered) and other lucky door prizes.

The event HQ will be located at the Ferry Reserve Holiday Park in Brunswick Heads. For more information on this event, or to register, visit the Brisbane Fishing website: www.brisbanefishing.com.au
