RECREATIONAL Fishing Advocacy body Keep Australia Fishing will release a controversial new advertisement this week in the final lead up to the federal election.
The new ad that is currently featured online and will air on televison urges anglers to vote for the Liberal and National Coalition on September 7.
Spokesman for Keep Australia Fishing, Neil Patrick told Fisho that while the rec fishing advocacy body is “apolitical” it has taken the unusual step of urging anglers to consider voting for the Coalition as “Tony Abbott has promised to only look at marine parks based on science.”
Patrick says that as Labor has not met with the rec fishing sector – despite being asked many times – or responded to rec fishers’ concerns, voters are left with little choice at the ballot box.
“I recommend people look at voting for the party that will look after Australia’s five million fishers,” he concluded.
