AFTER a seven-year break, popular former fishing writer/editor Ben Sandman is back in the media with an exclusive freelance agreement with Fishing World and a new website: http://sandmanfishing.com.au.
Having worked across many of Australia’s fishing/boating magazines in roles spanning from staff journalist to managing editor, Sandman moved away from publishing in 2005 to establish successful PR/media/design company SandmanPR.
With a young family and a recent move from Victoria to New South Wales, he said SandmanFishing was another division of the business that “better suits my lifestyle.”
Along with the website and blog, SandmanFishing comprises a broad media communication channel via Twitter and Facebook, sharing relevant content from a range of credible sources.
While Sandman maintains close associations with some respected marine industry brands, he said SandmanFishing had been designed as a news and information portal, rather than a PR outlet.
“People jump onboard various social media channels to receive informative content … and they just as quickly switch-off if they’re constantly bombarded with sales messages and receive nothing of value,” Sandman said. SandmanFishing will be driven by quality recreational fishing content, from news and feature articles, to videos and opinion pieces.
