Bar Crusher enters commercial market

AUSSIE plate aluminium boat builder Bar Crusher has entered the commercial vessel market with its new Commercial Duty Range (CDR).

Based on Bar Crusher’s proven 7.3m and 7.8m hulls, the heavy-duty work boats are built to 2C survey for use in a broad range of applications within government departments, marine safety organisations and the commercial sector.

Bar Crusher general manager Sam Holmes said each CDR vessel was developed in close consultation with clients and their specific use cases.

“The high-level engineering and industry-leading construction techniques already used in our
recreational boats means the CDR series is as close as you can get to an off-the-shelf commercial
vessel,” Holmes said.

“While it’s a solid base, each client’s requirements are unique, which creates additional complexity
around AMSA compliance, particularly given the various application-specific equipment on each boat.”

Available in cuddy cabin, hard top, and pilothouse configurations, there are already three Bar Crusher CDR 7000 vessels on the water and in use around the country.

A CDR 8000 series is also under development for applications requiring larger vessels.
