THE Vanford is the latest addition to Shimano’s finesse spinning reel category.
Shimano says the Vanford series replaces the iconic Stradic Ci4+ series and is equipped with a range of technology upgrades, including a lighter and more balanced new MGL rotor, for fast start up.
The Vanford utilises Shimano’s Ci4+ body material making it lightweight and easy to cast. Additionally, Micromodule Gear II and Silent Drive ensures gears align and perform with nominal resistance and minimal reel noise. Hagane Gear has been upgraded for strength.
Shimano’s X-Protect system provides high-level water resistance. The Vanford’s roller clutch and line roller bearing have an IPX8 standard. Shimano also says the Long Stroke Spool design has increased casting performance.
Felt drag washers are fitted to the 1000 to C3000 models and Cross Carbon Drag washers are fitted to the 4000 and 5000 models.
