ANSA NSW is reminding all anglers to keep an eye out for people tampering with Angel Rings along the NSW Coast.
With several of these rock fishing rescue devices reported missing in recent weeks, volunteers involved with the Angel Ring Project are experiencing difficulty in getting replacements out into the field, as well as covering associated costs.
After a member of the public was visited by Police who executed a search warrant on the property and retrieved a stolen Angel Ring, people need to be reminded that these public rescue devices are not to be tampered with unless in the case of an emergency.
Angel Rings are now being installed with tracking devices so they can be traced.
Any tampering should be reported to the local Police as soon as possible and let ANSA NSW know on Freecall 1800 079 009.
