Bass released in South Australia

FOR the first time ever, Australian bass fingerlings have been released into a South Australian reservoir.

Recfish SA. the peak body for rec fishing in the state, said this historic event came after years of consistent effort, advocacy, planning and shaping.

The bass fingerlings were released into Todd Reservoir in Port Lincoln.

“The Todd Reservoir is a beautiful sight, with a beautiful community we are pleased to represent,” said Recfish SA.

“We thank the Malinauskas government for the work they’ve done here in making this newest fishing opportunity possible, and to SA water for working through the process with us.

“Both Spot on Port Lincoln and Tackle World Port Lincoln made the effort to help with the release- and we can’t wait to see this reservoir begin to produce SA’s best Aussie bass catch and release sport fisheries that will diversify rec fishing in the west coast for years to come,” said Recfish SA.
