Never one to skite about how good the fishing is in his own backyard (not too much anyway…) well known South Australian-based fisho and writer/editor Shane Mensforth sent Fisho this pic of his latest catch – in an email subject titled “ratking”.
We’ll let Shane describe the catch in his own words:
“Got this little bloke on Sunday morning. 170[cm] long, 96[cm] girth, tagged and released.Estimated 100lb-plus.
Needless to say, my personal best. You’ll have to get over here and catch a REAL kingfish one day!”
For the record Shane’s monster king ate a live garfish in 3m of water at Coffin Bay and was taken on 24kg gear. He said the tussle lasted “forever”.
