THE secret tag number of the $1 million barra released in Season 2 for Tourism NT’s Million Dollar Fish competition has been revealed.

Minister for Tourism and Culture Lauren Moss joined cricket legend and Million Dollar Fish ambassador Matthew Hayden at the Dinah Beach boat ramp to announce the secret number.

“If you’re lucky enough to catch a red tagged Barra and it carries tag number 2656 – you are an instant millionaire for Million Dollar Fish Season 2,” Moss said.

“With nearly 45,000 people registering for the competition, the Million Dollar Fish campaign is extremely important to our tourism industry; it boosts the economy, brings in visitors and creates jobs for Territorians.

“Million Dollar Fish is also extremely important for local business and fishing tour operators over the quieter wet season.”

Fishos are reminded to not remove the tag until they have taken a photo of the fish with the red Million Dollar Fish tag clearly visible and placed on a ruler or tape measure to show the length of the fish for verification.

“The Million Dollar Fish is still out there, and best of luck to all the fishos between now and midnight on 28 February in catching a red tagged Barramundi,” said CrownBet CEO Matt Tripp.

“Season 2 has been a smashing success, with eight lucky winners landing $10,000 cash each already.

There are still four fishing trips to Top End destinations up for grabs just by registering for Season 2 of the Million Dollar Fish Competition.

The Million Dollar Fish Season 2 competition runs from 1st October 2016 – 28th February 2017.

To be eligible participants must register online at www.milliondollarfish.com.au
