A KINGFISH tagged and released in Port Hacking by John Taylforth on 1 October 2015 has recently been recaptured for the third time.
This brings the number of times this fish has been caught to four, all in the space of 612 days! It was first tagged in October 2015 in Port Hacking at 70cm and was last caught off Jervis Bay in June at 100cm.

Total straight line distance between first release and last recapture – 58 nm (105 km).

ABOVE: The kingie was first tagged at 70cms in Port Hacking in October 2015. It was recaptured for the first time about a month later.

ABOVE: The kingie was recaptured for the second time in Port Hacking in December 2016 at 95.5cm.

ABOVE: The king moved south off Jervis Bay, where it was caught for the fourth time in June measuring 100cms.
