THE Aboriginal Land Commissioner is currently reviewing 12 bed and bank / intertidal Land Claims previously recommended for grant. One of these is the Lower Daly River Land Claim (No.68).
The claim relates to the bed and banks of the lower Daly River (from approximately Clear creek area down to the river mouth).
This claim was previously recommended for grant, and if granted in the future, could mean changes to access arrangements (possibly fishing permits and/or area restrictions).
If you fish in this area, then the Amateur Fishing Association of the Northern Territory wants to hear from you now!
First-hand information from recreational fishers will be essential to AFANT being able to substantiate detriment issues for the statement they are preparing to lodge with the Commissioner.
