Make anchoring Stress Free

STRESS Free Marine, based in Adelaide, South Australia, has leapt to the forefront of electric anchor winch technology with its superbly designed and engineered products.

Raising the anchor is no longer an issue, regardless of your boat size or operating area. Nor is dropping the pick accurately and quickly if your fishing ground is limited in size.

The original Stress Free winches enabled the anchor to be raised or lowered with the flick of a switch, with no ‘lock-off’ required. These were quickly embraced by boaties all over Australia, and were eagerly installed by boat builders as original equipment.

The Stress Free NG series, however, took the brand to a new level. The NGs feature a terrific free fall system, which allows the anchor to drop immediately and reach the bottom right over your intended target area – all at up to 600 feet per second. There’s no more waiting around for the winch to unspool.

There are four models in the NG range: The NG Mini 500 for smaller trailer boats, the Midi 1400 for medium boats, the Maxi 1400 and the big guy the Mighty 1700. All can be fitted in a relatively short time at home, or they can be ordered as an optional extra when buying a new boat. Custom builds are also available.

Stress Free Director, Dean Forster, says we have a very strong domestic market in Australia however the response to the Stress Free product overseas has exceeded all expectations and distribution channels have been established in Europe, New Zealand and, more recently, the US.

“Never did I expect our winches to create the sort of impact they have,” said Mr Forster recently.

Stress Free Marine has won several commendations for its products, including a Business Champion Award in 2007 and Telstra Business Award in 2008, Dame Award 2009. It was also a finalist in the prestigious IBEX Awards in 2009 in the Innovative Products section.
