Mercury’s smallest get an upgrade

MERCURY’S 4, 5 and 6hp super-light portable outboards have been upgraded to offer enhanced all-round performance, ease of use, and reliability.

Features of the portables include:

Front Mounted Shift Lever – Mercury portables now feature a front-mounted shift lever which is easier and more comfortable to use.

Integral Fuel Tank – To free up valuable space and to make these engines even more portable, Mercury’s 4, 5 and 6hp outboards now all have a one litre integrated fuel tank with fuel shut-off. A remote tank connection also allows for extended cruising.

Longer Tiller Handle – Mercury has added four inches to the tiller handle to improve driver control and hull manoeuvrability and it can be folded down for easy storage.

Cowl redesign – The new moderncowl design on Mercury’s 4, 5 and 6 hp portables means even greater durability, providing better protection for the engine with an improved lower seal.

The through-prop exhaust system, which only Mercury portables have, means quieter boating and more reverse power. They’re easier to start thanks to an auto decompression release.

Mercury’s portables carry the industry’s only 3 Year Corrosion Warranty; 3+2=5 Years fully transferable non-declining engine warranty; 3-Star Australian Emission Standards Rating.
