Tohatsu launches new 40 & 50hp four-strokes

AUSTRALIA’S Tohatsu distributor, Lakeside Marine, has announced the arrival of the new MFS40A EFI and MFS50A EFI lightweight four-stroke 40hp and 50hp outboards.

With a completely new engine design Tohatsu’s engineers have spent considerable time and effort to make sure these new models offer all the latest important features.

Tohatsu says the new 40 and 50hp, at 97kg is one of the lightest in its class and features Electronic Fuel Injection with tuned intake manifold for optimum fuel economy and outstanding smooth, responsive performance. The sleek modern cowl sets the new model apart from its competition, and has been designed to provide a sporty look and effective induction system.

Both the 40 and 50hp models include a Variable Idling System to allow trolling speed to be adjusted in four levels from 650rpm to 950rpm via touch key control, similar to the existing TLDI engines. Also fitted is a high output 21A alternator and a convenient built in freshwater flush system that simplifies routine engine flushing.

The MSFS40A and MFS50A are available with either the Tohatsu Multi Function tiller handle featuring many benefits such as: forward gear shift, central trim switch, steering co-pilot/friction control and ergonomic handle; or Standard Forward Control version which comes with premium style polished bezel tachometer and trim gauge. Both versions come standard with propeller and 25tr fuel tank.

The MFS40A and MFS50A models are available now.
