SLOW jigging in the salt continues to grow in popularity and Shimano says its new Rock Hopper “Inchiku”-style jigs will be just the ticket for species like snapper, pearl perch, coral trout, red emperor, kingfish, samsonfish and cobia.
The interesting feature about the Rock Hoppers is that the jig section runs freely on the line or leader (protected by abrasion resistant tubing), which on descent gives the trailing squid skirt and hooks the appearance of a predator chasing its prey.
Rigged with a pair of chemically sharpened fluorine coated inline assist hooks, they are available in five colours with luminescent highlights, and five weights from 90 to 200 grams.
