NEW for 2015, the Quantum Smoke Speed Freak spin series features a fast 6.2:1 gear ratio, along with an indestructible titanium bail wire, a lightweight C4LF carbon fibre rotor design and CSC carbon-stainless-ceramic drag system.
There are four Smoke Speed Freak spin models: the SL25XPTiA weighs a tiny 224g, retrieves more than 83cm per turn of the handle and holds 146m of 20lb braid. The SL30XPTiA weighs just 227g, winds in 91cm per turn and accommodates 200m of 20lb braid. Sizes 25 and 30 are available now; sizes 40 and 50 are due to arrive in Australia later in 2015.
Smoke Speed Freak spin reels have an advanced drag system that uses a unique stack of carbon fibre, stainless steel and ceramic washers to deliver 9kg of drag power. Each model has 10 bearings and one anti-reverse bearing, plus a lightweight aluminium frame and gear-side cover.
The double-anodised MaxCast II™ spool delivers impressive casting distance and protection against wind knots. Other features include a soft-touch EVA handle knob and distinctive red trim that blends well with Quantum’s typically-stylish Smoke matt black finish.
