THE new Quantum Smoke Speed Freak baitcast reel features a screaming-fast 8.1:1 gear ratio – which rips in 89cm of line for every turn of the handle.
It also features Quantum’s new ‘PTX’ frame, designed to add rigidity while reducing overall weight, which is just 181g.
The new Micro Infinite ACS external centrifugal cast control has a 250-degree rotation, adding 13 new settings for an even wider range of control for precise adjustments. Plus, when casting, the new Smoke Speed Freak design disengages from the pinion gear completely, allowing the spool shaft to ‘float’ freely for zero friction, adding even more distance to your casts.
The Speed Freak baitcast reel includes the improved new CSC2 drag – an advanced system that uses a stack of carbon fibre, stainless steel and ceramic washers to deliver a smooth 11kg of drag power. The reel design features 10 bearings and one anti-reverse bearing, plus a lightweight aluminium frame and gear-side cover, which removes quickly for simple maintenance.
The aluminium spool holds 155m of 30lb braid and other features include an aluminium PT main gear and drive shaft, titanium-nitride coated line guide, spool tension click knob, soft-touch EVA handle knob, plus distinctive red trim.
