The 49th annual NSWGFA Interclub tournament, sponsored by Nautilus Marine Insurance, is scheduled to be held over the weekends of February 26/27 and March 5/6.
The Interclub continues to be Australia’s largest gamefishing tournament, consistently attracting over 800 keen game fishos each year from right around the country. Competitors get to experience the special feeling of floating among some 200-odd boats during the opening gathering of vessels on the first morning of competition; an almost electric atmosphere that is different to most other competitions.
Despite a slow start to the NSW marlin season, the grounds of Port Stephens never fail to produce some great fishing at this time of the year, and no doubt there will be some tough competition as tournament crews take advantage of the striped, black and blue marlin, sharks, yellowfin tuna, mahi mahi and various other gamefish that will be on offer for competing anglers.
As the Interclub is a teams-based event, it is vital that you join your local affiliated gamefishing club if you wish to compete and enjoy what is a great week of fishing and fun.
