Adventure abounds

The crew of popular fishing show Adventure Bound recently filmed some great bluewater gamefishing action in the waters off Fiji.

Onboard 51-foot Bertram charter operation Golden Eagle the AB team successfully worked the largely unfished waters of the Southern Lau group. During filming line-burning wahoo to 40kg were landed as well as yellowfin tuna to 30kg taken on the troll or while jigging. The boys also tangled with dogtooth from 5kg in size through to unstoppable monsters; dolphinfish to 10kg and GTs ranging from 10kg to again unstoppable proportions.

The crew report that the fishing was so good catching live bait proved impossible due to the wahoo and yellowfin tuna eating everything in sight. AB presenter Lee Rayner described the action as the “best fishing I have ever seen!”

As a result of the Fiji craziness the next series of Adventure Bound will feature some amazing footage. For more on fishing Fiji check out: www.goldeneaglefiji.com.

Next week on AB Rayner catches a marlin at Port Stephens from his trailerboat. This action packed show airs in Melbourne at 8pm on Tuesday and 6pm the following Saturday. For other states check your local guide or see updates on: www.facebook.com/adventureboundtv
