THE Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge reports a busy month for clients with some exceptional fishing for barra and bluewater sportfish experienced.
The Lodge reports bluewater sessions for Spanish mackerel and tuna have seen triple hook-ups a common occurrence, while a few prime eating species such as coral trout, bluebone, golden snapper, and large mouth nannygai have been kept for the Lodge’s chef Marc to weave his culinary magic for guests to enjoy.
As well as plenty of mackerel there have also been some solid GTs around.
September saw the barra fishing Arnhemland is famous for on show as fish eagerly smashed lures throughout the month. One group of 12 Lodge clients (with quite a few complete novice fisherman) competed against each other in a friendly fishing comp over four days, and incredibly landed 734 barra in four days, with plenty of fish reported over 80cm.
Included in the meritorious fishing were captures of metre-plus threadfin salmon, big black jewfish, mangrove jacks and saratoga.
