WELL known Fisho contributor, David Green, was last week recognised for his services to the community with a Medal of the Order of Australia.
Greeny, who also happens to be Gold Coast Health’s Director of Emergency Medicine and goes by the title of Associate Professor, became the very first registrar in the emergency department of the old Gold Coast Hospital in June 1984, and served as an examiner for the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine over 20 years, and as a Queensland censor for 7 years. He was very involved in the development and direction of registrar training during that period.
You can read more about Greeny’s award in this article on the Gold Coast Health website. Suffice to say he celebrated by spending Australia Day fishing for marlin, dolphin fish and wahoo.
Congratulations Greeny!
