AUSSIE ‘yak fisher Scott Baker has taken out the inaugural Daiwa-Hobie World Kayak Fishing Tournament held in NSW.
The tournament took place on the Camden Haven and Hastings rivers on the mid-north coast and featured competitors from Australia and overseas. While local anglers took out the first three placings, anglers from the US and Singapore finished in the top 10, with US angler Jose Chavez earning a commendable 4th place, notably achieved while fishing for a foreign species (bream) for the first time.
Over the 3-day event Baker was pushed all the way for the win by Jason Meech (AUS), but held on to win by a mere 60 grams. For full results go to: www.hobiefishingworlds.com
