THE NSW South Coast-based Basin Lure & Fly Anglers Inc. is re-introducing the very successful Southern Bream Series for 2014.
The Squidgie Southern Bream Series, which ran successfully for a number of years before stalling in 2013, is being “re-birthed” as the Basin Lure and Fly Southern Bream Series 2014 – with the help of an extremely dedicated club committee and the implementation of a tournament director/organiser.
The previous competition ran separate sections for power boats and kayaks with power boat numbers up to 100 teams and kayaks up to 40 anglers. With the popularity of both divisions, the club plans to follow the same format in 2014.
Cash prizes will be paid down to 5th place, depending on entries received for each event. A prize will be awarded at each event in both divisions for the biggest bream. Competitors will also be in the draw to win one of many lucky door prizes.
The series will be run over seven events, two of these being two-day events and will conclude with a two-day Grand Final.

Round 3 April 6th – Clyde River
Round 4 May 11th – Sydney Harbour
Round 5 June 21st & 22nd – Mallacoota
Round 6 August 24th – St Georges Basin
Round 7 September 21st – Shoalhaven River
Grand Final October 11th & 12th – St Georges Basin
