KATE Verreet, wife of hardcore LBG fisher, Dennis Vereet, hooks a big yellowfin estimated at 100kg.
Kate´s 100 kg Yellowfin Tuna hook pull!
I´m very proud of my wife that she did all the hard work it takes to finally get a hook up on a monster tuna off the rocks. She tied all the knots (PR and Uni) by herself, spooled up her reel by herself with the BUSTED FISHING BEE´S KNEES REEL SPOOLER, rigged her lure and did thousands of casts with the heavy gear to get this hook up. The fish took a GT ICE CREAM lure on the surface, fully airborne. Estimated weight of the fish is around 100 kg. The fish turned after a 500 m run and the hook pulled. Next time she hopefully gets another chance! Gear used was a DAIWA SALTIST HYPER 962XHS rod with a DAIWA DOGFIGHT 8000H filled up with 1000 m of WFT (WORLD FISHING TACKLE) kg strong line in 32 kg (0,22 mm).
