Bridge to Recovery – Help Vanuatu rebuild

IN the wake of the devastation caused by Cyclone Pam last weekend, fishing charter company Ocean Blue has advised that its Vanuatu-based team is safe and well and its base of operation survived the cyclone largely unscathed.

“We have been quite lucky with no damage to our boats and minimal damage to Trees and Fishes Lodge,” advised Ocean Blue’s David Noble this week.

He also thanked the rec fishing community for messages of support. “We’ve had an overwhelming response in the wake of Cyclone Pam’s direct hit on Port Vila and islands of Vanuatu,” Noble told Fisho.

Those wishing to help support the people of Vanuatu to rebuild their lives can make donations via local initiative “Bridge to Recovery”, which will help fund vital repairs to damaged vital infrastructure, including two main bridges that provide critical access to Port Vila. Currently, locals living outside of town cannot access the main hub for essential supplies including food, fuel and water.
