IN 2014 Lindsay Price from Welshpool Victoria won the Bucket List Trip Competition. A trip for him and two mates to Princess Charlotte Bay. Cyclone Nathan blew that plan off the water, however the rescheduled trip for this year – with a relocation to Weipa – saw Lindsay and his mates Andrew and Peter join Reel Chase Charters for their bucket list trip.
Fishing the creeks and rivers of Port Musgrave north of Weipa saw the guys tick barramundi off the list as well as juvenile Queensland grouper. But it was the inshore reef action that saw the intrepid trio from rural Victoria really start ticking the species off their bucket list.
Nannygai, fingermark, cobia, coral trout, golden trevally, big cod, Spanish mackerel, the species list that came over the side was like the contents of Grants Guide to Fishes. A final count of 17 different species gives an idea of the frantic action on board Reel Chase Charters.
