According to a report from the US, former President George Bush Senior recently ran his fishing boat aground while in thick fog on a beach near his home in Maine, New England.
Bush Snr, a keen angler, was on board his triple-engined 38ft sportsfisher Fidelity IV when the beaching occurred. The boat reportedly drew strange looks from tourists as it sat stranded at low tide until it could be returned to its dock a few hours later.
A spokesman said Bush Snr was cruising close to shore in low visibility when a wave pushed his boat on to the beach.
The former president and some family members were aboard when the boat ran aground but no-one was injured.
