Campaign to oppose Crown roads sell-off gains momentum

ANGLER opposition to the NSW government’s plans to accelerate the sale and closure of Crown roads (sometimes known as paper roads) which provide access to
many recreational fishing locations is gaining momentum. More on this issue here.

The Monaro Acclimatisation Society Inc has now organised a campaign to oppose any road closure that leads to a valuable trout fishery in the Snowy Mountains Region of NSW.

MAS President Steve Samuels is currently asking for public support in this campaign via a pro-forma letter that can be easily filled out and sent off to the Lands Department to voice your opposition to this road closure.

“If we lose this fight we will lose a lot of fishing territory, so your support is valuable. If you know of others who would be willing to assist please forward the letter to them,” Samuels said via an email statement.
