Double down

DAIWA’S original 75mm Double Clutch has a reputation as a big fish lure, so it follows that the new Double Clutch IZM 60SP is a hotly anticipated lure.

Over the past few years the Double Clutch has proved itself as one of the must have lures on the ABT tournament circuit. Gaining an almost legendary status with the bream fraternity in Tasmania and Victoria the Double Clutch’s unique bib design and slender profile causes the lure to track straight and deep making it one of the best slim jerk baits. But it’s not just limited to bream as it has proven itself across Australia on bass, trout, estuary perch, golden perch and flathead just to name a few.

The Double Clutch is designed to cast straight and accurately due to the unique Daiwa design “S-GOS” or silent gravity oscillation system. This system slides a tungsten weight to the rear of the lure along a wire to shift the weight to the tail for bullet like casts. Crank hard and fast and the weight shifts to the front for increased balance and deeper diving.

To minimize noise from the weight shift the sliding weight has dampening washers to absorb the impact. Diving down to 1.3 metres on a straight crank and 2.5 metres when twitched the Double Clutch suspends on the pause enticing fish into striking.

Handmade in Japan to the highest standards, these lures feature 3D realistic eyes, ultra sharp chemically sharpened trebles and are painted internally with chip proof paint for an incredible lifelike finish.
