Drinks Carria

HERE’S a great idea for transporting drinks easily to your boat, barbecue or camp site. An Australian company has just launched a device for carrying cases of beer and non-alcoholic drinks with one hand.

The “Carria” (patent pending) comprises two webbing straps that wrap around a case, and a plastic handle. The design causes the straps to tighten and firmly grip a case when lifted by the handle, allowing users to carry heavy cases easily and safely.

The Carria was invented and will be marketed in Australia by Belldale Pty Ltd, a company based at Terrigal on the NSW Central Coast. It fits all popular brands of beer, RTDs and non-alcoholic drinks in packs of 24 or 30 cans or bottles, can be attached in-store in seconds and doesn’t interfere with scanning at checkout.

The Carria was designed using CAD (Computer Aided Design) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and has a safety factor of five when carrying a case that weighs 16 kg. It’s available online at www.carria.com.au for $9.95 plus postage.
