Electric bass final

The 2010 MotorGuide BASS Electric Convention proved to be a serious challenge for many of the country’s best fishos at Queensland’s Lake Cania.

Sixty eight competitors took part for a tally of 54 bass over the two days. The best performers were well rewarded with prizes of three MotorGuide electric trolling motors.

The main source of frustration for entrants was an abundance of small bass, however, smart fishing from Bundaberg basser Shane Anderson (2/2, 1.64kg) saw him win Day One, by tempting some big bass actively feeding in the shallows.

A different strategy worked on Day Two, with Ricky Simmons (1/1, 1.05kg) fishing a flooded grass point where the bass were holding. For their efforts, each man won a new MotorGuide electric trolling motor and a Blue Fin 3.75 aluminium Jon Boat to put them on.

A third MotorGuide/Blue Fin package was given away by random draw, with Jason Shepardson the lucky winner.

When the fishing was over, David Trinder once again secured the number one ranked BASS Electric Angler title for the second straight year.
