THE 2011 Pirtek Fishing Challenge has raised $80,000 towards prostate cancer research.
Close to 4000 anglers around Australia competed in this year’s Pirtek Fishing Challenge with all money from entry fees going directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA).
At a recent NRL home game for the Pirtek Parramatta Eels, Pirtek Fluid Systems Group General Manager Stephen Dutton presented the $80,000 cheque to Dr Anthony Lowe, CEO, of the PCFA.
On presenting the cheque, Stephen Dutton commented, “We are thrilled to be making such a significant contribution to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Everyone within our company has embraced the campaign contributing to its success, and we look forward to an even bigger competition in 2012.”
The $80,000 will assist the PCFA in its efforts to support world-leading prostate cancer research, raise awareness of prostate cancer in the community, and help men and their families affected by prostate cancer.
The date for next year’s Pirtek Fishing Challenge has been set for Sunday, April 15,
2012.
