POPULAR TV fishing show, Fishing Edge commences its second season on channel ONE HD at 4pm Saturday June 21.
The new season of the show featuring well known fishing identity and host, Lee Rayner, runs for 26 weeks (breaking for two weeks for the Commonwealth games).
Here’s what viewers can look forward to in the first four episodes. (Scroll down for a video preview).
Episode 1
Saturday June 21 at 4pm
To kick the new season, Lee heads up the north coast of NSW with good mates George Trinkler and Quinn Scott to South West Rocks. The boys spend a day fishing at near by Grassy Head for Spanish mackerel during their annual run. The show is packed with tips and advice on targeting these pelagic speedsters and the guys get amongst some great fish on live baits and lures.
Episode 2
Saturday June 28 at 4pm
Western Port in Victoria is one of the most popular locations for big King George whiting in the state. On this episode of Fishing Edge, Lee puts in the hard yards to track down some thumping fish in the port. Along the way he’ll give you all the tips and info to go out and catch some XL models of these awesome table fish for yourself.
Episode 3
Saturday July 5 at 4pm
Right at the very tip of Australia is Cape York and a short distance offshore lies the pristine fishing getaway, Albany Island. The fishing lodge here is run by CY Fishing Charters and on this episode Lee, along with Chris Beldon from Rapala, spend a few days fishing the remote waters of the surrounding Torres Strait. A fishing paradise with plenty of options.
Episode 4
Saturday July 12 at 4pm
On this week’s episode, Lee catches up with Rapala Pro Anglers, Dan Grech and Jon Millard to spend a day fishing the north Queensland impoundment, Kinchant Dam. This dam offers anglers the opportunity to target one of Australia’s most sought after sport fish – the barramundi, in very accessible shallow waters. The boys catch a stack of great barra on some of the latest lures with many of them being landed only a stones throw from the shore! A great episode for anyone who loves this iconic Aussie fish!
