FISHING World’s October 2011 issue is out now!

October’s cover story by estuary specialist Pat Brennan has all the info you need for finding consistent inshore lure fishing action. Pat’s back to basics piece has plenty of pro tips on tackle rigging and techniques to successfully target bream, estuary perch, whiting, flatties and more.

October Fisho also features some great fishing locations around Australia including a top spot for a family fishing holiday, Tea Gardens on the NSW Central Coast. David Green also relates a trip to remote Melville Island in the Northern Territory where a bunch of Fisho writers got to tangle with a mess of tropical sportfish as part of the inaugural Melville Challenge.

Big snapper are special fish no matter where they’re caught, but as Jamie Crawford explains in his October feature story Rockin’ Reds, taking a big red from the rocks is a very memorable experience for any fisho.

Ever had an ambition to catch yourself a monster cobia? If you have, this month’s practical feature by Moreton Bay cobe specialist Jason Comino outlines how you can get amongst this enigmatic sportfish over the coming warmer months.

In the October issue, keen young fisho and new contributor Rhys Withers has penned an informative piece on shore and flats fishing for big bream, whiting and flatties – it’s state of the art luring without a boat and loads of fun.

This month Fisho’s resident lure guru, Bushy, discusses exactly what makes a good lure and why looks ain’t everything in the lure game.

Greeny experienced one of the best ever run-off seasons in the Territory this year and this issue he relates all the valuable lessons learnt during an action-packed two months.

Keen to smoke your own fish? In October Fisho, Jim Harnwell shows you how it’s done the easy way with a state of the art electric smoker. While on DIY, Brad Job explains how to go about building your own spiral wrap baitcaster.

This issue Dean Butler gets back to his old stomping ground of Bermagui to sample some of the world class gamefishing the port is renowned for. Also this issue rock fishing regular Mark Williams has all the info you need to get into high speed rock spinning in coming months.
