THE Sydney International Boat Show comes to a close tonight so if you’re keen to check it out you’d better be quick, the hall doors shut at 8pm!
While this year’s SIBS started off fairly slowly on Thursday with reasonable numbers of visitors through the doors, the weekend’s glorious weather saw people out in droves to check out the latest in boats, big and small, new marine products, and the Grand Final of the BETS bream comp that featured its weigh-in on the Darling Harbour foreshores.
Fishing World was well represented at this year’s show at Yaffa’s stand in Hall 2 where plenty of readers dropped by to take advantage of special show offers on mag subscriptions, signed up for our e-newsletter (and grabbed a cool free gift) or just stopped to have a general yak about fishing. A big hit at the stand was our special mock-up Fisho cover, which had visitors lined up to grab a pic of themselves featured on their favourite fishing mag holding a huge snapper as on the current August edition. Everyone from school kids to babies had their photos taken – even the guy in the original pic, Evinrude’s Riley Tolmay, wandered by and stuck his head through the cut-out for a laugh – see top pic below.
If you haven’t managed to get to the show, here’s a taste of what you’ve missed.
