THE Victorian Fisheries Authority has welcomed 14 new fisheries officers to their ranks after 10 weeks of intensive training.
An incredible 781 applications were received earlier this year, so these 14 Officers have been through a very tough and competitive process.
Training has included legal, boat handling, defensive driving, community education, fisheries management and an understanding of recreational and commercial fisheries, both inland and marine.
The new recruits will be deployed at 11 stations across the state, so you’ll see them out there very soon!
