HOW-to guides to recreational fishing hot spots along the NSW coast are now available free of charge from DPI Fisheries offices, local tackle shops and tourist information centres.
This new series of guides gives you the low down on fishing opportunities at popular coastal locations including St Georges Basin, Tuross, Lake Macquarie, Botany Bay and Jervis Bay.
As well as tips on the best places to fish, the 12-page guides feature maps, practical info on target species, handy knots, lure and bait advice plus basic rules and regulations. The guides are designed to help tourists or newcomers to fishing with practical info on target species and details on productive locations to wet a line.
Additional guides on freshwater locations including Wyangla, Burrendong, Eucumbene and Blowering Dams as well as the Shoalhaven River are currently underway.
Online versions of the guides are available under “Fishing locations” on the NSW DPI website.
Email your address to fisheries.info@dpi.nsw.gov.au if you’d like a copy of the current guides mailed out to you.
