GAME fishers who target marlin and sailfish on light stand-up tackle are sure to be excited by the new Fin-Nor Marquesa Pelagic lever drag reels.
These reels have a unique two-stage cam drag profile that is designed to deliver unparalleled fine-adjustment control over freespool and light drag settings.
Fin-Nor says this design allows you to set the exact degree of freespool you require for perfect bait presentation, with a more linear drag range from 0lb-15lb. Then, once past strike, the drag curve steepens to a more aggressive control, utilising the same advanced carbon fibre materials found in Fin-Nor’s big game reels.
The Marquesa Pelagic range includes a size 30TP – 450yd/20lb mono; 670yd/50lb braid – and size 40TP – 440yd/30lb mono; 700yd/65lb braid.
The MA30TP has a 6.1:1 gear ratio and the MA40TP runs a 5.2:1 design.
Both Marquesa Pelagic models have a refined feel that disguises the strength of the components. The one-piece frame and side plate are fully machined from 6061-T6 aluminium and anodised. The stainless steel gears are oversized for added strength and the infinite anti-reverse provides reliable hook-sets and is backed up with a double ratchet design.
