Great white swims into Sussex Inlet

This summer has highlighted a number of great white shark sightings around Australia, some in quite close proximity to shore or large cities. For a related story click HERE.

The accompanying pics of a recent great white sighting on the NSW South Coast were posted on the region’s sportfishing website www.basinlureandfly.org.au.

According to the post, a couple of contractors doing maintenance on navigation markers spotted the cruising great white, which they estimated to be about six feet long. The shark had reportedly entered the Sussex River which is the basin’s opening to the ocean.

The contractors went on to herd the shark back out through the entrance with their boat, to where it was seen to hang around for some time before finally disappearing.
