Hervey Bay long range sportfishing charters now on offer

A NEW long range live aboard sportfishing charter operation is now available from Queensland’s Hervey Bay.

The charter boat, Freedom III, is a 58ft (17.7m) catamaran originally custom built in 1990 in Innisfail for renowned documentary film producer Ben Cropp. The vessel was then purchased in April 2009 by Keith and Sue Reid, who embarked on an adventure of a lifetime, sailing Freedom III from Port Douglas to begin a new life as a luxury whale watch vessel operating out of Hervey Bay.

Currently in 2B (8 people 200 miles offshore) and 2C (20 people 50 miles offshore) survey, Freedom III is an ideal sport fishing vessel.

Scott “Scotto” Mitchell and Andrew “Chozza” Chorley are now hosting extended long range charters out of Hervey Bay fishing on board Freedom III on the remote waters above Fraser Island outside of whale season – Nov through June. Fishing options are vast and varied with everything from micro and deep water jigging to popper fishing and billfish, depending on time of year.
