IN 2019, a kingfish was tagged with a NSW DPI gamefish tagging program tag in Coffin Bay, SA.
Two years later in 2021, it was recaptured in Seal Rocks. That’s an incredible 1601 km travelled.
This movement is just one of the many recaptured kingfish that have crossed state boundaries and highlights how different states share this fishery. It also highlights how important it is to preserve such a fantastic fishery and protect it from exploitation.
