AUSTRALIAN Fishing Tournaments, the company behind the popular Gamakatsu Team Series, Gamakatsu Hobie Team Series and the North Coast Fishing Bonanza has been encouraged to add a new tournament to the competition calendar.
Scheduled for the 20th and 21st of July at Forster on the NSW Central Coast and spearheaded by the new Majorcraft rod brand from Japan, this “skins” type event will see a guaranteed pot of $6,000 split over the two days.
Entry is open to anyone, as long as their boat meets the required criteria for bream catch and release lure fishing tournaments. Rules and regulations can be found online at fishingcomps.com.au.
As this will be a trial for a wider set of competitions in the future, Australian Fishing Tournaments says it will look at expanding this format into other areas. The more people that enter, the bigger the prize pot!
Contrary to popular belief, these competitions are not only for professional anglers. In a growing sport, there are few better ways to spend a lazy couple of days than fishing with a mate and the teams format is an excellent way to get into competitive bream tournaments.
