FISHO reader Robert Marguccio contacted us recently with details of an impressive catch he made while on a fishing charter near Swains Reef off the Queensland coast.
According to Robert: “I believe the fish may have been caught around Popps reef from memory, in the Swains Reef system. We used a live hussar suspended from a float, while we fished for other reef fish such as coral trout…”
“My two mates Glen Kaye and Soren Jensen teamed with me to pull in this beauty. He had five nice runs over the fight and took 25 minutes to land! It was around 23kgs and 1.6mtrs in length! Great fun.”
