More monster flatties!

THE monster flattie pics just keep coming…

Following Fisho’s recent reports of big flathead being caught on the NSW south coast in the past month, most notably at St Georges Basin, we’ve received a number of emails on the subject – usually with photos of gigantic flathead attached.

Here’s one of the latest we received from Doug Malone who wrote:

“Thought I’d share a few more pics of big lizards from St Georges Basin.”

“We went down this weekend past with the hope of getting into some of the big girls. 3rd cast of the first day I hook and land my PB at 88 cms and 5.7 kgs. I was over the moon with the amount and quality of the fish we caught.”

“The next morning my wife Sash comes out with us to see if she can get into the action and trumps me with a beauty of 89cms and 6.4 kgs! I’d like to say this is her biggest flathead but she’s the croc tamer out of the two of us. Sash landed and released a 98cm 7.8 kg beast down at Tuross heads a few years back on our honeymoon … That’s right we went fishing! She’s a keeper.”

Croc tamer – Doug’s wife Sash with her 98cm monster caught while honeymooning at Tuross.

Doug reports they accounted for one more 84cm flattie at the Basin, all caught on the 100mm Squidgy Fish in black and gold in 3m of water. All fish were released.

Great effort Doug and Sash!

Dare we ask … anyone else caught a monster flattie lately??

What's your reaction?
