IN breaking news from the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA), a new recreational fishery has been created for our Australia’s largest and most iconic native freshwater fish, the mighty Murray cod at Rocklands Reservoir. Around 50,000 fingerings have been released and another 150,000 will be added during summer to this western Victoria waterbody. The VFA will also be liberating 200,000 yellowbelly fingerlings into the lake, which they hope will become another tourism and fishing mecca for regional Victoria.
