THE accompanying photos clearly demonstrate the death and destruction that discarded fishing nets can inflict on fish and animals in marine environments.
The images, sent to Fisho from a reader based in the Northern Territory, show the end result after a metre long barra became trapped in a small length of gill net attached to a log. The unlucky barra obviously attracted a nearby croc out for an easy meal. Unfortunately for the croc, it also became entangled and became another victim of the net of death.
