Fin-Nor’s new range of Affinity spin reels offer light-tackle anglers the familiar strength and durability found in Fin-Nor’s big reels.
The range includes 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 size reels. The smaller sizes are ideal for bait and/or lure fishing for bream, whiting, flathead, trout, perch and bass; while the medium to larger sizes are capable reels for casting soft plastics for snapper and tropical reef fish, spinning metals for tailor, tuna and mackerel, or casting baits at your favourite estuary and inshore hot spots.
Fin-Nor Affinity spin reels have a tough full metal body, alloy spool and handle, and run an eight ball-bearing system, all stainless steel.
The special worm-drive slow oscillation system lays line neatly, making them well suited to braid lines or mono.
Fin-Nor run a versatile gear ratio in these reels—5.1:1 in the 1000 and 2000 size reels; and 5:1 in the 3000 and 4000 size—and a rock-solid instant anti-reverse, courtesy of a strong one-way bearing.
Line capacities are ample, ranging from monofilament ratings of 140yd of 6lb in the 1000, to 220yd of 12lb in the 4000—those capacities multiplying if you use braid.
The smooth feel of the worm-drive combines well with the strength you expect of a Fin-Nor drag system, offering the reliable performance and fish-catching capability one would expect of a reel with a heavier price tag.
