IF you enjoy targeting and catching mulloway, NSW DPI Fisheries needs your help!

The NSW Research Angler Program (RAP) is looking for keen mulloway fishos to team up with to gather important biological info about this hugely popular sportfishing species.

This is how it works: if you decide to keep a legal-size mulloway, NSW DPI encourages you to not only enjoy a meal of fresh fillets but to maximise the worth and value of that fish by donating its frame to the RAP.

NSW DPI says it’s simple and easy to get involved. All you need to do is check out the info here for the location of your nearest drop-off location.

As a bonus, NSW DPI Fisheries will send you some Berkley soft plastic lures – perfect for mulloway!

The frame from your mulloway will be used by researchers to extract important age data from the fish’s otoliths (ear bones).

NSW DPI says, the RAP program is a great example of NSW fishing licence fees at work.
