POLICE recovered the body of a man believed to be a missing rock fisherman at Kurnell on Sunday afternoon.
About 1.10pm on Sunday 20th November police were called to Cape Solander, following reports a man aged in his 50s was swept into the ocean while fishing off the rocks.
A search involving officers from Miranda Local Area Command, Surf Life Saving and Marine Area Command commenced and at around 4.30pm, police located the body of a man in the water near Cape Solander.
While there has been no formal identification, the body is believed to be that of the missing man.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner and police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
