Public meetings on fisheries management continue

QUEENSLANDERS interested in the future management of the state’s fisheries are encouraged to attend their local public consultation meeting, hosted by independent consultants MRAG Asia Pacific.

All fishing sectors, as well as other community groups with an interest in fishing, are invited to provide input into the review.

Media agencies are welcome to interview Professor Glenn Hurry, MRAG Asia Pacific review team, prior to the meeting.

Professor Hurry is the exiting Executive Director of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission who has substantial domestic and international fisheries management experience. He is a Visiting Professor of Fisheries at the University of Wollongong and has previously been CEO of the Australian Fisheries Management Authority and Chair of the Food & Agriculture Organisation’s Committee for Fisheries.
